Have sushi or one of the other specialities in the Windsong Bar for lunch, before perhaps going to visit the Kempinski Spa, located at the foot of the famous Baie Lazare rocks in a natural wooden pavilion with panoramic views and surrounded by a beautiful tropical landscape.
The spa philosophy is inspired by the European cycle of the seasons and uses pure organic herbs found in the area like lemon grass, vanilla and cinnamon as the main healing component.
Why not visit the casino after dinner, to see if you are in favour with Lady Luck?
-
Day Three:
Today you will join a full day excursion to the second biggest island in the archipelago, Praslin Island, as well as the third biggest island, La Digue. Visitors will be able to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vallée de Mai, home to the endemic species of the Coco de Mer as well as the other five species of endemic palm, the only place in the Seychelles where they are all found together.
The Coco de Mer is a palm that can grow up to 30 meters in length and is known for having the largest seed in the world, weighing up to 18 kilograms. There has also been a rich body of legend which has developed around the species. For instance, in the 19th century the British General Gordon produced detailed 'proof' that the Vallée de Mai was the Garden of Eden and that the Coco de Mer was the tree of knowledge, giving the area religious significance. Located in a valley in the heart of Praslin National Park, an area which was untouched until the 1930s and still retains primeval palm forest in a near-natural state, the Vallée de Mai is also home to the endemic (and endangered) black parrot, which is totally dependent on the existence of the surrounding palm forest.
The tour includes a visit to the famous Anse Lazio beach before the 30-minute crossing to La Digue, during which one has a good chance to spot dolphins. Visitors to La Digue island will marvel at the timeless atmosphere, with the comforts of the 21st century blending smoothly with the tranquillity of yesteryear, where life is lived mainly at the pace of the oxen.
Transfer from the jetty is by ox-cart to L'Union Estate for a tour of the copra sheds, the giant land tortoises and the recently refurbished colonial plantation house, location of the film “Goodbye Emmanuelle”. The tour of La Digue resumes by 'camion', an open-sided truck with canopy, stopping at Anse Source d’Argent, one of the most spectacular beaches in the world, allowing you ample time to photograph the impressive granite rock formations. This is an eleven-hour long tour to fit in everything, and you will therefore be collected from your hotel at 06h10 in the morning, to return again after 18h in the evening.
-
Day Four:
Today will be another opportunity for you to relax and soak up some rays, whilst at the same time soaking up the idyllic and peaceful atmosphere of your surroundings.
